poem on black history

Overstand their sacrifices

Across seas into lands unheard
You lifted the mast of Faith
Whilst lowered in your grave of betrayal
But never mind as your martyrdom isn't history

Mamouth, Ben Solomon and others
Tubman and Elija selected to celebrate
But truly the endless numbers uncounted
On the stakes of sacrifice remain divinely rooted

Years have elapsed and so has your tears
But while covers are slipped over your written pains
The ocean where you are buried and the plains
Have since arisen to meet Heaven, though Massah still same.
